Irish Theatre Institute Launch

On the 5th of July 2006, Irish Theatre Institute, formerly known as Theatre Shop, was launched by Olive Braiden, chair of The Arts Council. The event was held at The Abbey Theatre and attended by 120 theatre practitioners and other guests.

Irish Theatre Institute released its strategic statement 2006-2012, setting out a new programme of work to create opportunities abroad and strengthen resources at home for performing artists and producers (to download a copy of this, please click here)

Alongside the launch of the new identity, Phase III of The Irish Playography 1904-1949 was unveiled, along with a findings report of the Irish Playography 1904-2006 (to download a copy of the findings report, please click here).
